Friday the Thirteenth Aleksander Dovganyuk-Krym, October 13, 2023 After a week filled with negativity, where I couldn’t open my social media profiles without encountering bad vibes, I decided to take things more lightly on this day that people often associate with terrible events. I needed a smile, and I hope it brings one to anyone reading it. In a land where superstitions roam, there’s a day that sends shivers right to the bone. It’s not just any day, it’s quite the scene, the dreaded Friday the Thirteenth, if you know what I mean! The sun arose on that fateful morn, but little did they know, they were in for a storm. For on this day, the black cats plot, and ladders everywhere, they surely forgot. The calendar shrieked, “It’s Friday, oh my!”The thirteenth of the month, under the sky so high.People hid under covers, afraid of their luck, avoiding all mirrors, just to pass the muck. But in a tiny town, where laughter reigned,a brave young lad, his fortune unchained. He scoffed at the fear, he laughed at the dread,“I’ll face this day!” young Oskar said. He wore his socks inside out, you see,and danced with joy, as happy as can be.He broke a mirror, not one but three, and shouted, “Bad luck, you won’t catch me!” He strolled beneath ladders, with a grin so wide, the superstitious gasped, and quickly they hide.He spooked the black cat, just for fun,and said, “Friday the Thirteenth, you’re overdone!” He found a four-leaf clover, then ate some pie,and winked at the moon, up in the sky.He opened umbrellas indoors with glee, said, “Bad luck, you’re no match for me!” But fate has a way, a funny twist, and Oskar soon found himself in a mist.He slipped on a banana, and oh, what a sight, flew into a puddle, much to his fright. His socks got wet, his pie took flight, the black cat hissed in the pale moonlight. The ladder wobbled, he clung on tight, and said, “Maybe I pushed my luck tonight.” So here’s a lesson for all to learn,on this day, be careful at every turn. For Friday the Thirteenth, with its superstition, might just lead to a comical, quirky condition! But fear not, my friends, it’s just a date,a day like others, don’t tempt your fate.Laugh in the face of superstition’s plight, and have a happy Friday the Thirteenth night!
