Are you listening to foreign music and wish to know what is said? It’s an understandable feeling. And we wish to offer you a solution to this. With more than 6 years of experience in the translation of music, working with all of the big 4, Universal Music Group, Sony, Warner Music Group, and BMG. We’re offering you translations of music videos, transcribed and subtitled, completely free of charge on your side. We’ll do the work, you’ll get your wished translation. The only caveat is that you won’t gain the rights to our translation, which we may choose to publish on this blog after gaining licensing rights.

When we first started with our translations, it was rare for music videos to be found online with translations. However, with the rise of YouTube, this has become less and less rare. That being said, a lot of these translations are horrendous. Many of these aren’t even correctly translated due to being translations of translations, instead of the actual lyrics. This has to do with some languages being rare to be known by people knowing certain other languages.

It’s like it can be hard to find a translator who wishes to translate from Tatar to English, or the other way around, which we’re fully able to do. And when you do find someone, it’s generally expensive to the extremes. So what you’ll get offered instead is someone using one of those machine translators and just trying to guess the right meaning. However, there are words that this won’t work for. Take the Ukrainian “катма” as a notable example. Try it if you wish in any translator, none will give you an answer to what it means. The reason is that there are multiple meanings, depending on the usage. And that is while not even noting the usage of stress in sentences, which can be important. A good translator will try to find some way to give attention to this, but you are only able to do so if you know the language.

Our goal is to lower the prices of translations, making them more affordable to everyone. Good standards of translation to the masses, not just the elite as it’s currently. But more importantly, a break away from the freelance translators that translate based on other translations. Valid translators, freelance or professional, should get the attention and respect they deserve. Hence we offer our translations for free. And as a bonus, all of our translations are confirmed by professional translators, hence our limited choice of languages. The limiting choice of music videos has to do with this being an overcrowded market where professional translators are hardly active anymore. We will only impact freelance translators by doing this, which generally shouldn’t be asking you for money to begin with…
