The Calmth of the Snow

Song Translation: Sotiria – Ein Licht für dich

Song Translation: Sotiria – Ein Licht für dich

Foreword

Sotiria Schenk, known under the artist name of Sotiria, the previous singer of the German band Eisblume. A singer, and a previous band, that have taken importance in my life, but also on my blog. After all, I have previously shared several of the band’s songs with translated subtitles before on this blog. And the song “Wunderkind” has been one of their songs that I have always loved for the way it uplifts me.
So, now Sotiria is performing solo, it’s only natural to me to continue translating her music, as I have done in 2016 for all songs released by the previous band Eisblume.

(There’s also a musical project with the same name, “Eisblume” by Christine Westphal, which is unrelated to Sotiria and the previous band Eisblume.)

Translation brought in partnership with Universal Music Group.

Translated lyrics

I often feel lost, and wonder who I am.
Looking for my place in life, where do I belong?
I’ve often wondered, what’s important to me.
And if perhaps you’re the answer to all my questions.

Be my “yes” and my “perhaps”, when I lose myself in you.
In my reflection, I see so much of you.

I would like to be a light for you in the big city.
In a window of millions, during day and night.
A small bright glow in the darkness.
A quick look to me, could be your compass.

I’ve often asked you, what’s important to you.
And if the bond that unites us, exists and holds.
I would like to love you, but I do not know how.
Without knowing the answers to the questions, being able to look forward.

Be my “yes” and my “perhaps”, when I lose myself in you.
In my reflection, I see so much of you.
I would like to be a light for you in the big city.
In a window of millions, during day and night.
A small bright glow in the darkness.
A quick look to me, could be your compass.

Welcome in my life!
It would be nice if you stay!
Maybe you feel like me, and do not want to be alone anymore.
A quick look to me, could be your compass.

I would like to be a light for you in the big city.
In a window of millions, during day and night.
A small bright glow in the darkness.
A quick look to me, could be your compass.

I would like to be a light for you in the big city.
In a window of millions, during day and night.
A small bright glow in the darkness.
A quick look to me, could be your compass.

Original lyrics

In meinem Spiegelbild

In meinem Spiegelbild

Willkommen in meinem Leben!
