The night of whispers: a halloween poem Katarzyna Dovganyuk-Krym, October 31, 2023 When the sun dips low and the shadows grow,And the wind carries tales of long ago,There comes a night, in autumn’s glow,Halloween, a spectacle in tow.In the hush of twilight, spirits stir,In the rustling leaves, whispers occur,A night when the lines of time blur,The love for Halloween, in hearts, does purr.Jack-o’-lanterns flicker in the moon’s gaze,As children in costumes amaze,In every ‘trick or treat’, a joyous phrase,In the night of whispers, Halloween’s praise.Ghosts and ghouls, witches on broom,In the chill air, excitement loom,Despite the promise of playful doom,In the night of whispers, happiness bloom.Candies and laughter, stories shared,In this night of memories paired,To love Halloween is to be ensnared,By the charm of a tradition, lovingly cared. As dawn breaks, washing away the spectral sight,The magic of Halloween takes flight,Yet in each heart, it lights a light,Echoing the night of whispers, in the morning’s light.
